Your Curated Guide to Living Well in Chester County, the Main Line, Philly — and Beyond.
September always feels like a reset, doesn’t it? Summer is winding down, the school year is in full swing, and life suddenly feels a little busier (okay, a lot busier). For me, this month is all about getting back into routines and grounding myself with the things I truly love.
When I started The Wellness Edit, my goal was to share the products, places, and practices that genuinely make my life better — most of them tied to wellness and local gems, but sometimes it’s just those everyday things that bring me joy. This month’s edition is exactly that: a mix of wellness staples, family milestones, a beauty must-have with a personal story, and even a little travel inspo.
Let’s dive in.

This past Saturday, Matt and I stumbled onto what might just be our new favorite kind of date—a morning at Surge Sauna & Cold Plunge. We don’t do spa days often, but every time we do, we walk away asking ourselves why we don’t make it a regular thing.
My friend Laura had been telling me about Surge for months—she just knew I’d love it. And wow… was she right!
From the moment we walked in, I could feel it was more than just a “wellness spot.” It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, breathe deeper, and actually enjoy the process of taking care of yourself.
What Makes Surge So Special?
What struck me most about Surge is how deeply rooted it is in both story and community. The founder, Cody, is a middle school teacher who’s been practicing cold plunges and sauna therapy for years, crediting the rituals with improving his mood and even helping him manage a classroom full of middle schoolers (as a mom of two middle schoolers myself, I say yes please). Beyond teaching, he’s also a talented woodworker, and every piece of wood inside the sauna was carved by him from locally sourced trees—a detail that makes the space feel both intentional and alive.
That local love extends into every corner: from the coffee and tea to the honey (Laura!) I love the community vibe—everyone we met was on their own unique wellness journey, but all with the same shared mission of living vibrantly and healthfully. It’s rare to find a place that blends wellness and connection so seamlessly, and Surge does it beautifully.
Our Experience
We decided to dive right into the full contrast therapy experience, and it did not disappoint. I started with a one-minute cold plunge at 44°F—a shock to the system, but in the best way. From there, we slipped into the hot sauna, letting the heat sink deep for ten blissful minutes before moving into the infrared sauna for a more gentle, glowing warmth. Feeling brave, I headed back to the cold plunge for two minutes this time (and yes, I’m pretty proud of myself for making it through). We wrapped things up with fifteen more minutes in the sauna to sweat it out, then topped off the whole experience with red light therapy, which felt like the perfect, restorative exhale. The entire rhythm of cold to hot to light therapy left me feeling both energized and grounded—it was a vibe, and I am 100% here for it.
Why You Should Check Out Surge
If you're local, you absolutely should swing by Surge. It’s more than a spa—it’s a locally grown, mood-boosting community nestled in wellness and connection.
So yes, Laura—your recommendation was the best. We already can’t wait to come back.
Hope to see you at Surge!

If you’ve been around me for a while, you know Isagenix has been my go-to for over 12 years. I truly don’t go a day without these products:
IsaLean Shake + IsaPro + PB Powder → Starting my day with over 40 grams of protein is a huge win, especially as a pescatarian. It’s quick, it’s delicious, and it keeps me full and focused.
Ionix Supreme → Adaptogens are the unsung heroes of wellness. They help the body handle stress (hello, midlife juggling act 🙋🏻♀️). I notice a difference in my energy and mood when I add this to my morning shake.
FiberPro → Let’s just say midlife mamas cannot get enough fiber. Supporting digestion and gut health is everything. This is one of those “boring but essential” habits that makes a massive difference.
If you feel like you need an extra boost of protein or adaptogens or fiber or anything else this wellness brand offers, you can browse and please reach out to me if you have any questions.

This month’s glow pick is the BeautyStat Vitamin C Lip Serum. I’ve been using the entire BeautyStat skincare line for over a year now, and I genuinely love everything about it — the products, the results, and the people behind it.
What makes this brand even more special is that I’ve had the privilege of meeting the founder and chemist himself, Ron Robinson — a true gem. Beyond his brilliance in skincare formulation, he’s genuinely kind, thoughtful, and passionate about creating effective products. . It’s one of those brands that makes you feel confident not just in the products, but in the people behind them.
Back to the serum — my husband had lip cancer years ago, which was a huge wake-up call for us. He was diligent about sunscreen everywhere except his lips. This serum not only hydrates and protects but also offers antioxidant defense, giving your lips the care they deserve year-round. If you’re not covering your lips, you’re missing a key piece of skin protection.
BeautyStat isn’t just about glowing skin; it’s about confidence in what you put on your body and the trust you feel in the people creating it. That’s why I’ll keep using and loving it — and why I wanted to share it with you this month.
You can find it at Ulta, Tik Tok or on their website; BeautyStat!

A few weeks ago, my husband and I went to a random Sunday yoga class — I love date days like that. Here’s the honest truth though: for years I’ve tried to make myself love yoga.
Sometimes I enjoy it, but most of the time… I don’t.
I’d much rather lift weights, go for a walk, or take a class with music and energy.
And you know what? That’s okay.
Wellness isn’t about forcing yourself into the latest trend — it’s about finding what you love and moving your body in ways that bring you joy. Don’t sacrifice your time or energy on something that drains you.

September always feels like a reset month — almost like a second New Year. This year, I decided to get intentional about organizing all the moving parts in our world, so I ordered the Big A## Calendar (yes, that’s really its name 😂).
With three teenage girls, their part-time jobs, dance, cheer, and our own careers, our schedule looks like a never-ending game of Tetris. Getting it all down in one big, visible place has been a game-changer. It’s not just about remembering who needs to be where and when — it’s about creating a shared space where our whole family can see what’s happening and support each other.
And here’s the thing: writing down your goals (big and small) matters. There’s power in putting them out there. When you see them every day, they stop being just ideas in your head and start becoming priorities you actually act on. Sharing them with the people around you creates accountability, but it also creates connection. Suddenly, you’re not just chasing your goals alone — you’ve got your family cheering you on, and you’re cheering them on too.
Sometimes wellness looks like green juice and supplements, but sometimes it looks like a giant calendar on the wall reminding you of what matters most and where you’re headed next.

This one feels more like a life milestone than a shopping pick — but it’s too meaningful not to share. Our oldest daughter, our firstborn, turned 16 this year. Sixteen! I can still picture her driving around in the toy car and now here she is with car real keys in hand, stepping into a whole new chapter of independence.
As any parent knows, teaching your child to drive is both exciting and terrifying. You want them to feel confident behind the wheel, but you also know just how serious the responsibility is. That’s why we turned to the Defensive Driving Academy, and I cannot recommend them enough.
They made the process seamless from start to finish — they prepped her so well for her driving test, and somehow managed to teach her how to parallel park in less than 10 minutes. More than that, they gave me peace of mind knowing she had real training from professionals who care.
Driving is one of those big milestones — for her and for us as parents. And while I’ll always be a little nervous when she pulls out of the driveway, I’m grateful she started her journey with the right foundation. Some things in life are worth the investment, and this was one of them.

A few years ago, I stumbled on photos of this dreamy stretch of beach towns in Florida, and let me tell you — it was even better than I imagined.
This isn’t your typical Florida vacation. It’s quiet, clean, safe, aesthetic goals—and full of charm around every corner.
We stayed in Seacrest Beach, a beautiful community nestled between Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach —both walkable, bikeable, and bursting with character. The best part? I didn’t get in the car once. The only time it was used all week was when Matt went golfing (he said the courses were fantastic ⛳).
Our rental via VRBO in Seacrest Beach was clean, family-friendly, and absolutely gorgeous. While the community offers pools, our girls only used them once — clearly, for them, it’s all about the beach.
Tips if you’re planning a trip:
The beaches are private — make sure your rental includes access.
Check that your rental comes with beach chairs and bikes, or you’ll pay $30+/day just for a chair.
Vibes to know:
Rosemary Beach feels European — think Spain, cobblestone streets, gas lanterns, and cozy courtyards.
Alys Beach is like stepping into Greece — whitewashed architecture, dramatic palms, and a luxe, minimal aesthetic.
Our favorite eats:
Cowgirl Kitchen – relaxed, family-friendly, and so good.
Pizza by the Sea – perfect after a beach day.
Georges at Alys – dinner felt like a treat; amazing food + vibes.
Raw and Juicy Alys Beach – freshest juices and smoothies, plus a great spot to hang.
Charlies Cafe Rosemary – donuts, donuts, donuts…
If you’ve been wondering if 30A lives up to the hype — yes. Absolutely yes. Save this for when you’re ready to plan your trip, and reach out if you have any questions. I did a ton of research and would love to help you make the most of it.
This trip reminded me that “living well” isn’t just about routines or wellness products. Sometimes it’s about stepping away, exploring a beautiful place, and soaking in moments that make you pause and exhale.

That’s a wrap for September !💕
Wellness doesn’t always come in the form of green juice and gym sessions. Sometimes it’s a protein-packed shake, a big family calendar, the right lip serum, or simply giving yourself permission to skip yoga if it’s not your thing.
This month, I’m reminding myself (and you!) that wellness is about creating a life that feels good, inside and out.
Until next month,
xo, Jaime Lynn
